A little bit about me

Hi, I’m Cathrine!

I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 15 years of industry experience.

While the majority of my career has specialized in working with children, parenting, and family conflict, I love navigating all stages of life, especially with those that are willing to put in the work to create lasting change.

I have two young children, an adoring husband, and an aging, yet still lively rescue dog.

A relatable approach

I have lived my entire life in Southern California and understand the pressures and burdens our region puts on families and individuals.

Whether it’s the high cost of living or childcare, the pressure to keep up with what your neighbors, friends, or children’s peers have or do, or ease at which one can feel strangely alone in such a densely populated area, it can be extremely hard to find and prioritize selfcare.

I believe that we have enough judgment, assumption and criticism in our relationships and even in our own thinking.

Therefore, I strive to create an experience with my patients where they don't have to defend themselves, feel like greater failures in areas that they struggle, or walk away feeling worse about themselves.  I offer hope and comfort, centering on understanding the mess of relationships.

By the Books

  • As a therapist, I strongly believe that experiences gained through early relationships are fundamental to an individual's ability to interact, relate and connect to others throughout their life.

Children learn about relationships, and how to build relationships, from their parents. They, in turn, form expectations and place them on new relationships, hoping to both change what didn't work and find comfort in familiarity.  This often creates misunderstanding, chaos or even conflict at times as we grow.

Much of my work with families, couples or children focuses on understanding each other’s expectations that are taken for granted or aren't as clear as we tend to think.
